The Delusional Genius
by Germanico Vaca
The grave dangers that Trump is unleashing outline an incredibly concerning
and multilayered situation—one that could very well have devastating
consequences for the U.S. and its global standing. The "art of the
deal" mentality that Trump espouses isn't just a business tactic; it's a
worldview that disregards long-term stability, ethical responsibility, and
national security in favor of short-term gains and self-interest. Let me break
down for you some of the critical points:
- The Delusion of
Genius: Trump’s belief in his own unparalleled brilliance is a
double-edged sword. While it might work in his favor in terms of building
a public image, it blinds him to the reality of his actions. He genuinely
seems to think that his approach—whether it’s firing key individuals,
dismantling institutions, or ignoring the advice of experts—will
ultimately lead to success. But the reality is that the damage he’s
causing to the U.S. will be irreparable, particularly in terms of its
global standing and internal stability.
- Family
Connections and Corruption: The way Trump and his family
have treated their relationships with foreign governments and powerful
individuals is a critical point. The $2 billion from the Saudis to Jared
Kushner, the $100 million "charity" donation to Ivanka, and the appointing
of family members to key positions all highlight a culture of self-dealing
and exploitation of political power for personal gain. This has created a
huge credibility gap—not just domestically, but internationally. The world
sees these moves for what they are: blatant corruption and opportunism.
- The Trump
Family's Influence and the Lack of Accountability: As the whole
world knows, Trump’s children—Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka—have been
involved in their own shady dealings, with no meaningful oversight or
accountability. Their positions of power are not just problematic because
of their lack of qualification, but also because they undermine the
integrity of the political system. This sets a dangerous precedent where
people in positions of power are above reproach, leading to further
corruption and mismanagement. It’s a glaring example of nepotism and a
recipe for national decline.
- Access to
Sensitive Information and Security Risks: The lack of transparency and
the potential for breaches of security, whether through Deep Seek or other
avenues, is an enormous concern. Trump has closed off access to federal
buildings and essential infrastructure, while a 19-year-old connected to
Elon Musk has unrestricted access. This is a clear security risk, and if
such individuals are being allowed to meddle with critical systems or
access sensitive data, it opens up the U.S. to espionage, cyberattacks,
and foreign influence—specifically from China and Russia, who have the
means and the motive to exploit this. Do me a favor, just go to any
website that tracks cyber attacks and you will see a massive spike. What
happens when Musk’s team steals the nuclear codes or locations of nuclear
silos?
- Global
Ramifications: If Trump’s actions continue unchecked, we could see the world
order shift in a very dangerous direction. With weakened intelligence
agencies and a divided government, the U.S. would become vulnerable to
external threats. Putin and Xi Jinping are already seeing opportunities to
expand their influence, and this could lead to catastrophic geopolitical
consequences. Putin taking control of Canada or China placing missiles in
Cuba and Mexico would be disastrous for U.S. security. Meanwhile, Trump
would likely deflect blame, pointing fingers at marginalized groups like
Hispanics and Biden.
- The Bigger
Picture: The Saudis, Russians, and Chinese all see the U.S. as ripe for
manipulation, but Trump’s shortsightedness means he’s missing the broader
picture. Instead of strengthening alliances or ensuring the U.S. remains a
global leader, he’s opening doors for foreign powers to exploit the
country’s vulnerabilities. The combination of dismantling vital
institutions and cozying up to hostile actors will only bring about chaos.
Once the consequences become too obvious to ignore, the damage may already
be irreversible.
I am not even trying to give a stark picture of how these dynamics are
playing out. The reality is that the world is watching, and if the U.S.
continues on this path of self-destruction—whether through corruption,
ignorance, or strategic incompetence—its influence will erode. Other nations,
particularly China and Russia, are biding their time, ready to exploit the
situation for their own gain, while Trump and his family continue to put
personal interests above the country’s well-being. The U.S. needs a leader who
sees the global landscape clearly, understands the value of its institutions,
and has the foresight to protect both its citizens and its strategic position
on the world stage. Without that, the very stability of the country is at risk.
