Are you Freaking Blind?
by Germanico Vaca
I have to demand an answer from my Senators and Congressmen. Do you feel
safe or are you scared shitless as I am now? Please if there are agents of the
FBI, CIA tell me I’m wrong. The fact is that I feel the chilling dangers of
undermining U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies like the FBI, CIA,
NSA, and others. Trump’s actions are beyond stupidity—gutting these
institutions, labeling them as corrupt, and disregarding their roles in
national security—are deeply reckless and could have far-reaching consequences,
especially when viewed from a global perspective. Let me explain:
- The Delusion of
Power: Trump's belief that the world is "afraid" of him or
"respects" him is dangerously out of touch with reality. In
geopolitics, respect comes from strength, diplomacy, and the ability to
maintain stability and security—not through brash statements or isolated
acts of defiance. Trump’s actions are been perceived as reckless by
foreign powers, but they aren’t intimidated. In fact, they may be seeing
it as an opportunity to exploit vulnerabilities, and that’s exactly what makes
me afraid.
- Undermining
Security: When a leader reduces the capabilities of the very institutions
designed to protect national security, it’s a grave mistake. The FBI, CIA,
NSA, and similar agencies play critical roles in intelligence gathering,
counterintelligence, cybersecurity, and preventing both domestic and
foreign threats. By weakening these organizations, Trump is essentially
opening up the door for hostile actors to exploit U.S. weaknesses, whether
through cyberattacks, espionage, or even direct influence.
- The Risk of
Disgruntled, Disillusioned Agents: By labeling federal agencies as
corrupt or ineffective and firing large portions of their workforce, Trump
is sowing a dangerous seed. These individuals, many of whom have spent
years—if not decades—devoted to public service, could become deeply disillusioned
and resentful. They are been punished for doing their jobs and the grievances-filled
toddler of a man is angry they investigated his stupid ass. But the fact
is they have a unique set of skills and expertise that, in the right
hands, could be a significant asset for adversarial nations. If these
agents become disgruntled and feel betrayed by their own government, it’s
not hard to imagine them seeking alternative paths, including aligning
with foreign governments. Both China and Russia would see these
individuals as prime targets for recruitment, offering financial
incentives and more stable positions in return for their expertise.
- A Grave
National Security Threat: This isn’t just a theoretical
problem—it’s a direct and tangible threat to the national security of the
U.S. When highly trained agents and officers leave or are pushed out, they
don’t just disappear. The knowledge and expertise they possess are
valuable, and hostile foreign governments won’t hesitate to recognize the
opportunity to recruit them. In fact, they may already be positioning
themselves to do so. The U.S. could end up with an exodus of intelligence
talent that, in the hands of adversaries like China or Russia, could lead
to catastrophic breaches in national security.
- The Role of
Congress: Congress has a responsibility to intervene here. If Trump’s agenda
is allowing—or even encouraging—actions that undermine U.S. security, then
it’s Congress’s job to step in and hold him accountable. The danger posed
by alienating or destroying vital institutions is too great to ignore.
It’s not just a political issue; it’s a matter of national survival.
This is a moment where the broader public and elected officials need to
be more aware of the real risks involved. It’s easy to get caught up in the
headlines and the political drama, but the long-term consequences of these
actions—especially in the realm of national security—are potentially
devastating. And I demand action from the legislative body and when bad things start
to happen it will be your fault, while Trump may feel that he's playing a
winning hand, the world is watching, and it's no longer just about domestic
politics. This is a strategic game with high stakes, and if those at the helm
don’t recognize the gravity of the situation, it could lead to irreparable
damage.
