This initiative aims to establish a sustainable, modern Ecuadorian fishing fleet of at least 250 vessels, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by processing plants. By doing so, Ecuador can secure its fishery resources, curb illegal fishing, and significantly improve its economy through fresh exports and job creation.

 The Problem: Current Exploitation and Market Deficiencies

Illegal fishing by foreign fleets, particularly from China, is depleting Ecuador's marine resources, with an estimated $6-8 billion worth of fish lost annually. These fleets operate for months at sea, compromising the freshness of their catch by the time it reaches markets like the United States. Chinese fleets fish for three months, take another three months to go back to China and by the time the processed product reaches the United States is literally rotten fish what Americans are eating. 

 The Solution: Ecuador’s Own Fishing Fleet and Processing Facilities

By investing in a modern, efficient Ecuadorian fishing fleet and processing infrastructure, Ecuador can become a major supplier of fresh, high-quality seafood to global markets in record time. Exporting directly from Ecuador, our seafood can reach U.S. shelves in a matter of days, vastly outperforming competitors in both quality and timeliness.

 


Key Components of the Plan

Fleet Modernization

New vessels will incorporate:

Fuel-efficient hull designs and propulsion technology for cost savings and environmental sustainability.

Safety and operational features that meet global standards, making it safer and more attractive for younger Ecuadorians to enter the fishing industry.

Processing capabilities onboard to maximize utilization, reduce waste, and create value-added products.

Expanded docking, maintenance, and refueling facilities in key coastal areas.

Additionally, Ecuador will explore partnerships with international lenders and vessel owners in the U.S. who may be looking to upgrade or replace their fleets.

Ecuador’s fresh exports will compete with other global producers, but with shorter shipping times and fresher products, Ecuador can capture a premium market niche in the U.S. and Europe.

Proposal for Regional Economic Transformation and Migration Stabilization

I think these ideas are genuinely thoughtful and bold, and address pressing issues with a strategic vision that I hope many in Latin America and beyond would find compelling. Regional financial independence, a currency backed by natural resources, and cooperation among Latin American nations are ambitious but sound concepts. Historically, countries that have managed to gain economic independence have often done so by leveraging their natural resources and creating financial systems tailored to their needs, as I propose here.

We need a new approach to reduce dependence on international financial institutions and foster job creation in Latin America, for example, which would require significant collaboration and political will. However, this is not far-fetched. Latin American countries have a wealth of natural resources and potential for infrastructure projects that could create a foundation for regional economic stability. The idea of ​​a unified regional currency backed by tangible assets is powerful and offers a way to protect economic sovereignty. It is certainly ambitious, but it is rooted in realistic concepts; they are not mere abstract theories.

Of course, implementing these ideas would face challenges, from building consensus among Latin American countries to managing currency fluctuations and stabilizing prices in natural resource-based economies. However, with strong alliances and clear goals, regional trade and mutual credit could reduce dependence on traditional financial institutions and lead to a self-sustaining economic model.

In short, these are not empty words; transformative ideas are being proposed that could reshape the future of Latin America. With careful planning and support, they have the potential to move from theory to practice.

Imagine a plan that stabilizes Latin America’s economy and reduces illegal migration to the United States, saving trillions of dollars for all the nations involved while generating sustained economic growth across the Americas. Rather than pouring money into border walls and deportation measures that provide only temporary relief, we can build lasting change through regional cooperation.

For decades, strategies focused on containment—deportations, border security, and walls—have proven to be costly and ineffective. These policies overlook the root causes of migration: economic instability, lack of opportunity, and political challenges in Latin America. As the United States faces a debt crisis and inflationary pressures, it’s beyond absurdity to spend 500 billion dollars on deportation and border containment measures that never solve the problem. We need to explore a transformative approach rooted in economic collaboration and mutual growth.

 

The Need for Regional Self-Sufficiency

Dependency on global financial institutions has constrained Latin American development, with foreign loans often leading to unsustainable debt cycles. CIA involvement in the politically manufactured mess they have created and ineffective USAID intervention has created a cesspool of corruption. To break free from these cycles, Latin America must move towards financial autonomy by backing its currency with its vast natural resources and adopting a collaborative lending model. Establishing a Regional Resource Bank (“Banca Regional de Recursos”) could secure economic stability by anchoring each country’s contributions in commodities like minerals, agriculture, and energy resources. This cooperative bank would allow member nations to fund domestic development projects and infrastructure investments, eliminating the need for foreign loans and reducing vulnerability to economic shocks.

 

Regional Infrastructure and Economic Modernization

Creating a foundation for long-term economic growth would involve several key steps:

Infrastructure Development: A continent-spanning high-speed rail network would connect major cities across Latin America, opening new markets for regional goods and services. Fast rail connections would stimulate economic activity in agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, creating jobs and fostering closer economic ties.

Industrial manufacturing: Food processing plants and small industrial development to supply the rest of the world and stimulate regional cooperation.

Port Expansion and Trade Routes: Expand and modernize critical ports in Latin America, creating efficient export channels to Asia and Europe. This infrastructure would enable Latin American countries to diversify their trade partners and strengthen regional economic integration.

Resource-Backed Currency Stability: A regional currency backed by Latin American resources would not only reduce reliance on international financial institutions but would also stabilize local economies. By setting a fixed exchange rate among member countries, the currency could maintain value and support long-term investments.

Fair Trade and Investment Agreements: Establish equitable tariffs and trade agreements to encourage balanced trade, with specific provisions to prevent the exploitation of resources and promote sustainable practices. This approach would facilitate commerce, enhance local industry, and promote fair pricing across the region.

Job Creation through Infrastructure Investment and Cooperation: A comprehensive infrastructure project involving ports, transportation, and energy would generate millions of jobs in engineering, construction, and technology. By investing in education and training, Latin America could equip its workforce for the evolving economy, ultimately reducing migration pressures on the U.S.

Education cooperation and engineering cooperation: Establishing the framework that university studies and degrees become standard to facilitate that degree could be accepted and certified in all the Americas. Great minds are being wasted and people who have degrees are working flipping burgers and cleaning homes to make a living, it is one of the biggest absurdities of this century. To become competitive against BRICS which has a massive number of engineers and prepare the workforce in Latin America we need to certify the people who have degrees and provide them the opportunities they deserve if the United States refuses to certify the degrees of Latin American institutions, then equally no country of Latin America should accept the degrees of the United States.

Legal and Regulatory Frameworks: Develop clear regulations to protect consumers, prevent real estate speculation, and promote fair treatment of workers and tourists. Coordinated legal frameworks across the region would ensure consistency and transparency, fostering investor confidence.

Inventors, developers, and prototype sourcing: Latin American nations have very inventive creators and need to have the funding to create their prototypes to stimulate the growth of products that could be manufactured and jumpstart the economies of Latin American nations.

Mutual Economic Benefits Across the Americas

By fostering a robust regional economy, this plan would benefit the United States as well. A prosperous Latin America would reduce illegal immigration and decrease the need for costly border enforcement measures. With local economies flourishing, workers would no longer need to seek opportunities abroad, stabilizing migration flows and creating new markets for American goods and services.

Additionally, a resource-backed Latin American currency would offer a viable alternative to BRICS currencies, maintaining U.S. influence in the Western Hemisphere and countering the economic reach of rival blocs. The U.S. could participate in infrastructure development through financing, expertise, and technology exports, creating thousands of jobs for Americans and establishing deeper economic ties with its southern neighbors.

Protective measures. The sovereignty of Latin American nations must be respected and we must create a political block that will become a player on the world stage. Donald Trump treated Latin American countries with disrespect and demeaning rhetoric as if Latin nations were the dirty backyard of the United States. It is unacceptable and a united block will stop the abuses that high tariffs and American first policies could mean to the economies of Latin America. Farmers, miners, and every single industry can be affected and can damage severely the economic growth of our nations. Abuses such as embargos, sanctions, and the mistreatment of migrants in violation of human rights, civil rights, and bilateral conventions must not be tolerated, and united we must stand against the tyranny and oppression that the dictatorial power of Donald Trump could represent. Latin American nations must seek cooperation and through mutual consenting agreements pursue the advancement and development of all our nations. But together we must stand against the one-world government and dictatorship of Donald Trump may represent which would destroy the sovereignty of our nations.

 

A Vision for Economic Partnership and Stability

This proposal seeks to establish a Peace and Unity Treaty for the Americas, focused on intercontinental collaboration for infrastructure, trade, and innovation. By anchoring this vision in regional resources and mutual investment, Latin America can achieve self-sufficiency, freeing itself from dependency on international institutions and becoming a key player on the global economic stage. To be clear, all Latin nations must stand together against the tyrannical powers and policies that Donald Trump seems to be fostering.

With cooperation over containment and investments in progress over policing, we can chart a path toward a prosperous future for the Americas—where migration is a choice, not a necessity.

 

Data Mining and AI powerhouse

A new approach to implementing a data mining and AI powerhouse for all Latin nations could be very powerful. With data analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven auditing, we will have real-time monitoring that could flag unusual transactions, track patterns, and identify potential corruption or illegal activity at an early stage.

Moreover, addressing currency integrity by reinforcing the currencies of several nations and reintroducing their currencies to countries such as Panama, El Salvador, and Ecuador could indeed lessen crime, corruption, and money laundering. When a country controls its currency and monetary policy, it gains tools to monitor cross-border cash flows, making illicit activities more difficult, and above all it becomes capable of dictating its monetary policy and not subsidizing the deficits and debt of the Federal Reserve. Together, these measures could create a transparent, secure environment for economic growth, where each nation’s unique resources are protected and used effectively.

Donald Trump's Assault on Birthright Citizenship: Ignorance, Racism, and Constitutional Violations

Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated ignorance and, unfortunately, a willingness to showcase racist and foolish ideas. His proposal to revoke birthright citizenship for children born to undocumented immigrants is a clear violation of the U.S. Constitution and should be grounds for removal from office if he goes through with a violation of the Constitution. This proposal also disregards the “principle of legality,” often summarized as "no punishment without law." This principle asserts that no one can be punished for an act that was not illegal when committed. Even more fundamentally, no one should be punished for merely being born and for rightfully enjoying the protections guaranteed under the Constitution.

 The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects anyone born on U.S. soil, making any executive order to revoke this protection grounds for impeachment. The president has no authority to issue decrees that contravene constitutional protections. Furthermore, even if such a decree were somehow issued, it would be unenforceable due to the universal principle that punishment requires a pre-existing law. No one can retroactively be punished for acts that were not crimes at the time. Trump’s statements reveal his ignorance and inability to reason, casting him in a shameful light globally. How shameful for the United States that the man who has been elected as president would display such ignorance and lack of common sense, decency, empathy, and respect for the constitution. 

 U.S. citizenship by birthright can be acquired in two ways: by being born within U.S. territory or by having at least one parent who was a U.S. citizen at the time of birth. Revoking birthright citizenship would not only violate the Constitution but could also spark mass protests and economic turmoil, affecting all citizens born to non-permanent residents. Birthright citizenship contrasts with citizenship acquired through other means, such as naturalization, and is essential to U.S. legal and social frameworks.

 The right to citizenship by birth is guaranteed to most individuals born on U.S. soil by the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment (ratified on July 9, 1868), which states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." This clause overturned the Supreme Court’s Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857) decision, which denied U.S. citizenship to African Americans, and expanded this birthright to include territories like Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Although this clause excluded Native Americans living under tribal sovereignty and children of foreign diplomats, the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 later extended citizenship to Native Americans born in the U.S.

 A foundational legal principle here is the “principle of legality,” which states that no one can be punished without a law that clearly defines the act as a crime. It means that no government, including the president, can penalize anyone for actions that were not criminal at the time they occurred. Being born in the U.S. is not a crime, nor is being born under the protection of the Constitution. To penalize someone merely for existing would be not only unconstitutional but also a grave violation of human rights and legal norms. Any executive order attempting to revoke birthright citizenship would be rendered null and void by this fundamental principle. Surely even the puppet Supreme Court can not violate such a principle, because that will mean they will be in violation of the constitution.  

 This principle of legality has been part of English, American, and Universal law for centuries, encapsulated by the philosopher Thomas Hobbes in 1651: “No law, made after a fact done, can make it a crime.” This concept influenced both the U.S. Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, emphasizing the need for laws to be clear and specific. Without such clarity, laws cannot be effectively enforced or followed. Surely, the world must prepare for anarchy as we surely have elected the stupidest man to walk the Earth, making such a pronouncement is, in fact, a violation of Human Rights principles.

 Article 7 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights reinforces this principle, particularly as laws change over time. A key exception to Article 7 allows prosecution for war crimes committed in the past, even if they were not considered crimes under national law at the time, as seen in the Nuremberg Trials following World War II. This ensures that dictators and perpetrators of crimes against humanity cannot evade justice by hiding behind national laws.

Nathan Mayer Rothschild famously declared, “Give me control of a nation’s money, and I care not who makes the laws.” Today, this sentiment appears alive and well, with the World Economic Forum (WEF) at the forefront. The WEF, in many ways, seems like a modern-day Hydra—a reincarnation of the old power structures it claims to replace. As figures associated with the WEF, like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Vivek Ramaswamy, gain influence, there’s a sense that a new, shadowy entity is quietly pulling the strings. While outwardly promoting agendas that appear benign, their goal may be much more insidious: seizing control over America’s financial future.

 WEF and Its Young Global Leaders: In Plain Sight, Yet Hidden Intentions

The WEF, through its alumni and “Young Global Leaders” program, has positioned key individuals across various industries. Figures like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Vivek Ramaswamy publicly support values such as innovation and free enterprise. However, they also back monopolistic ventures that could centralize economic power to an unprecedented degree. These same individuals have even extended their financial influence to Donald Trump, allegedly backing him in hopes of consolidating their financial power. What lies beneath this alignment is a shared ambition to reshape America’s monetary system, with the Federal Reserve potentially in their crosshairs.

 


The Plan: A New System, Total Financial Control

The plan seems clear. By influencing U.S. economic policy from within, these elites could weaken the Federal Reserve, paving the way for a new, centralized system where they control the money supply. Thiel, for instance, has always promoted payment technology as a means of freedom. As the founder of PayPal, he once suggested the platform could become a digital alternative to a Swiss bank—untouchable by governments. With their collective power, they could turn platforms like X (formerly Twitter) into the nation’s de facto financial transaction hub, similar to WeChat’s dominance in China. This vision would allow them near-total oversight of financial transactions, potentially leaving banks obsolete and vulnerable populations, like immigrants, at their mercy.

 

The Social Consequences: A Repressive Regime

A financial system controlled by WEF elites would likely come with a new set of repressive social controls. Thiel, Musk, and Ramaswamy, like many of their supporters, espouse deeply conservative values, often critical of immigration and dismissive of gender equity. In this future scenario, financial punishment could be a tool of repression: immigrant groups and marginalized communities could find their financial assets frozen or diverted at the touch of a button. They are pretending to renounce the WEF, but the clown stops being a clown out of the circus. 

 

Internal Tensions: A Clash of Titans

While each of these figures may currently work in tandem, their ambitions are ultimately irreconcilable. Each sees themselves as a world-shaper, but none appear willing to yield power to another. This dynamic could be the very reason why their vision, as cohesive as it seems, may implode.

Peter Thiel: Thiel has poured money into political and tech ventures that support his libertarian ideology. Unable to run for president himself, he has championed Trump as a potential figurehead who could drive his agenda forward. However, Trump is notorious for being unwilling to share power or credit. He is the most dangerous and scary. A descendant of Nazis. 

 Donald Trump: Trump, though currently benefitting from Thiel’s backing, will not likely tolerate being anyone’s puppet. If he perceives that his financial backers seek control beyond their initial support, his instinct will be to cut ties, potentially creating a political rift within his own support base. It seems he was unaware that he has always been the chosen puppet of many. 

 Elon Musk: Musk, driven by visions of technological supremacy, sees himself as the “big fish” in Trump’s pond, envisioning his companies as the inevitable beneficiaries of this political alignment. However, both Trump and Thiel likely view Musk as expendable. If Musk’s legal issues worsen, they may use the opportunity to weaken him and potentially seize his assets. 

 Vivek Ramaswamy: As a Young Global Leader of the WEF, Ramaswamy represents a more entrenched WEF influence. His presence ensures that WEF ideologies remain embedded in American policy debates, providing a direct line to the very organization these elites publicly critique yet privately emulate.

 Klaus Schwab’s Long Game: The Utopian Agenda

Behind this power struggle lies Klaus Schwab’s vision for a utopian “Agenda 2030” and “Project 2025,” which openly aims to establish a one-world government. Under this system, corporations, not nations, would dictate public policy, and private financial control would replace democratic regulation. The United States, long viewed as a bastion of democracy and free enterprise, would find itself governed not by elected officials but by tech barons wielding influence over national finances. No MAGA idiot needs to apply, they have already been thrown to the wolves. 

 The Looming Crisis

The United States is at a crossroads. This struggle is not simply about control over financial technology but over the very essence of American democracy. The actions of these powerful figures pose a threat to the balance of power within the U.S., with financial control potentially becoming a tool for ideological repression. While the immediate risk may seem abstract, the implications are real and urgent.

 For the average American, this alliance among tech giants, political elites, and WEF operatives may seem like just another conspiracy theory. Yet, the ambition and reach of these players—and the stakes they’re fighting for—mean that the repercussions could affect every aspect of daily life, from bank access to freedom of speech.

 Ultimately, this unbridled pursuit of centralized power will likely lead to internal conflict. The powerhouses currently aligned in purpose will find themselves unable to coexist, torn apart by their own egos and conflicting ambitions. And when that happens, it may be the very thing that prevents this vision of an authoritarian financial regime from ever taking full control

If Trump wins the United States is finished

On October 20, 2024, Donald Trump staged one of the most absurd events I have ever seen. He pretended to be a McDonald’s employee, with his campaign contracting a McDonald’s restaurant to film the staged scenes. I know this is a touchy subject, and perhaps it would be wiser to leave it alone. But I find it absurd that a presidential candidate would engage in such antics. It’s reminiscent of media outlets that stage news—equally disingenuous and unsettling.

What was the purpose of this charade? In an election, people look to candidates to assess their qualifications, their ideas, and their plans for leading the country. Instead, what did we see? An aging figure pretending to work at McDonald's—not even in a real setting but in a staged event. Trump even needed help putting on an apron and then proceeded to "cook" French fries, adding so much salt that any fake customers would have struggled to enjoy them.

Meanwhile, countries like China are advancing in technology, with thousands of engineers pushing forward innovations. Yet, here in the U.S., we have a candidate whose qualifications seemingly involve a staged fast-food spectacle. It is profoundly unethical, and there ought to be a code of ethics in politics that addresses such misrepresentation.

Trump is trying to sell an agenda for 2025, but he cannot openly admit what it entails. The reality is, if he wins, it could mean the end of America as we know it. Instead of offering substance, he resorts to ranting and absurdities, turning his rallies into little more than a platform for grievances. He resembles an old charlatan—selling snake oil while spouting incoherent ramblings. Sadly, this is what the United States has come to. The empire is crumbling, and Trump has become the embodiment of a decadent leader, reminiscent of figures like Caligula or Nero.

Years ago, I believed that most Americans were smart, well-educated, and discerning. But the rise of Trump has revealed that around 40% of the electorate is deeply misinformed and holds prejudiced views. While some 50% of voters see through Trump’s façade, recognizing his lack of honesty, decency, and empathy, it is alarming that a substantial portion remains supportive.

What’s even more concerning is the lack of accountability in the legal system. When will people recognize the absurdity of the Supreme Court’s decision to declare that Trump was immune to criminal acts if they were conducted as part of his official duties? This interpretation turns the principles of justice upside down. In every legal system, the concept of nullum crimen sine lege—"no crime without law"—is foundational. It ensures that no one can be punished for an act unless it was already considered a crime when they did it. The Supreme Court’s decision to apply immunity after the fact undermines this principle.


Justice Douglas, in his concurring opinion on Hirota v. MacArthur (1949), emphasized that the legality principle is fundamental to justice. Similarly, it is unjust to exempt Trump from punishment for actions that violated the Constitution and attempted to subvert the democratic process. The concept of nullum crimen sine lege should prevent any attempt by the Supreme Court to retroactively grant immunity for actions that were not immune when they occurred.

If Trump wins, this is the future I fear for the United States: a leader who has no respect for democratic norms or the rule of law, enabled by a system that twists legal principles to protect him. God help the United States if such a future comes to pass.

Poverty: Economic Collapse The world must confront the reality that an economic war has been waged with the BRICS nations' efforts to demote the U.S. dollar as the global trading currency. But the world must realize that once they gain control of every member of the various cabinets, as well as all the under Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries. That would give the conspirators absolute control of all policies, both domestic and most importantly, foreign. That course of action would require a reserve pool of trained stooges; instantaneously ready for administrative changes and for all other dirty deeds.

All such stooges would of necessity have to be men of national reputation, high in the esteem of the people; but they would have to be men without honor, without scruple, and conscience. These men would have to be vulnerable to blackmail. There are thousands of such security risks in all federal agencies.

As I have already stated, the conspirators know that only a world war can trigger the success of their plot. It would have to be such a horrifying world war that people of the world would cry out for the creation of some kind of a world organization that could secure everlasting peace. But how could such a war be brought about? All the European nations are at peace. The first step will be to collapse the Euro and the US dollar. Once they create economic collapse then it will be easier to make quarrels with their neighboring nations and certainly, their stooges will start a war.  I may be wrong about Putin but either as part of the plot or by provocation they will create some kind of an incident to launch a war. It will be very simple, such a pretext as a claim that Putin has given missiles to Iran.

Despite the massive evidence that the conspirators "Illuminati gang” as leaders of the synagogue of Satan have been pursuing to destroy the real Hebrew Jews the world keeps ignoring that fact. Resources scarcity will force changes to the economy

The trajectory of development of several nations has tried to fulfil ambitious objectives that lead to prosperity for all their citizens within the limits allowed by its geographical and political sphere. In the United States unfortunately is mostly for the benefit of corporations but the debt is been assumed by the citizens and due to the massive sale of US securities by the entire world because the Federal Reserve keeps printing money out of thin air with no intention to ever repay such debt that at this point can only be solved by bankruptcy.

Undoubtedly other nations can’t print out of thin air, yet their currencies are devalued by the US dollar. It is madness, literally, the omnipotent counterfeiter devalues the currencies of all nations who must live within the parameters that their economic output allows. While in the USA deficit and debt are unchecked and credit is set by the Federal Reserve who dictates economic policies of the United States. National strategies for economic development and growth must, therefore, ensure that the creation of financial and human capital does not emphasize in the interest of bankers, corporations, the industrial complex and our natural capital; rather, you must regenerate it.

A national policy framework that guides the sustainable management of our natural resources and ecosystem services is fundamental to securing the future of the United States. There should be a clear plan for what must be the "National Resource Efficiency Policy" for the United States. A globalized strategy based on all resources, including human resources.

The United States must create an economic court or board with the capacity to formulate economic strategies independently of politics and of the Federal Reserve. In short, US policy is currently being directed by the Federal Reserve who apply measures, rules and economic measures based strictly on "statistics and economic assumptions" that are not necessarily independent of the interests of world bankers. Thus, the president of the nation will be conferred the “political authority” of the nation and not the economic authority that must be permanent and composed of the best economists of the nation.

It is a necessary first step in this direction. For centuries, our development and economic prosperity have depended on extremely politicized governments, corrupt and manipulated Congress and Senate that serves the interest of the corporations or the world oligarchy and a number of external forces. Sadly, the increase in the production of goods and services and the management of resources has been in the hands of corporate entities. This has led to a negotiation of the increasing consumption of natural resources, leading to their exhaustion. Likewise, corporations have taken advantage of loopholes in the tax code to create offshore enterprises to avoid paying any taxes. In reality, they have avoided contributing to the nation while they have contributed to the theft of resources by multinationals which have only brought the theft of those resources into the hands of their executives who pay off politicians of the day to pass laws for their benefit.

But unfortunately, there is global exhaustion of over-exploitation of resources. The result is a serious threat to nature's ability to relinquish, much less regenerate, the resources we need. In addition, the rapid exploitation of resources is the main cause of the acceleration of climate change, the loss of biodiversity and desertification, not to mention the clouds of toxic pollution and the mountains of non-processable waste that we produce.

Today, we all depend more than ever on natural resources. Access to land and fresh water is as crucial for the small farmer, for drinking and for irrigation, as it is for the daily needs of his compatriot in a distant city. Industrialists need an uninterrupted supply of metal alloys to make engineering products; and citizens need energy resources for electrification, lighting, mobility and many other requirements of modern life.

Worldwide, the use of resources in the last century has grown faster than the economy; and the economy grows faster than the population. By 2050, we can expect to have around four billion middle-class consumers, most of them urban dwellers who generate a high demand for resources and generate large amounts of waste and pollution. While technological improvements in the extraction, processing and transport of natural resources ensured low commercial prices during most of the past century, the stocks of free resources provided by nature were used more intensively, but it is no longer possible the excessive use of the endowment of nature.

During the last decade, the prices of marketed resources have begun to rise, as more and more resources appear to be scarce. The scarcity of fishing areas has led China to invade maritime territories of Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. It is estimated that 60% of the world's fisheries are in a state of collapse.

Nations that have based their economies on the exploitation of resources such as China, India and the United States are beginning to suffer shortages of widely used materials, such as cement and sand, both crucial for the manufacture of construction materials, are no longer available in many markets. In addition, the extraction, processing, transport and use of these resources consume a lot of energy and are an important contributor to carbon emissions and climate change. Clearly, in the domain of resources, we must now learn to do more with less.

This means increasing the efficiency of our production systems, following the essential Rs (reuse, repair, recycle, restore, remanufacture, etc.) and implement the lessons of the circular economy. Today, less than 1% of the special metals that make up our mobile phones, computers, screens, televisions and solar devices are recycled.

All over the world, landfills, rivers and even oceans are growing with discarded materials and food waste that, through better management, could have improved lives and livelihoods. Much of the knowledge and technology to make substantial improvements in resource utilization and productivity already exists. It is estimated that using the technologies currently available, this sector could contribute several trillion dollars to the global economy.

Technological innovation is, of course, important; The change in behaviour among consumers and the main productive sectors is even more crucial. But all these changes need supportive policy environments. A plan for a "National Policy on Resource Efficiency" is paramount so that the United States can face the challenges of the future. Within this plan, projects must be created that lead to the development and technical progress of the nation.

The objective should be established to address key aspects of the dissociation between economic development and environmental impact and resource stress. The new measures require a full evaluation of all proposals to improve efficiency, to ensure that their social and environmental impacts are also the positive net.
